#Digital4Good 2019 to be Livestreamed from FB HQ
Bring the 2019 #Digital4Good Awards Show to Your Home or Classroom: September 16 Event Held at Facebook to be Livestreamed
Digital citizenship-focused nonprofit organization #ICANHELP will live-stream their annual #Digital4Good awards event from Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California on September 16. The one-day conference brings students who have impacted their peers, school and beyond with positivity on social media will join tech industry leaders, educators, subject matter experts, and celebrities for the uplifting one-day event.
Students receiving awards at the event have worked with faculty at their schools to develop plans to engage their student body in spreading positive messages and removing negative content as a community. Nominations were made by their peers and final awards were decided by the #ICANHELP board, which includes MLB All-Star Aaron Judge’s mother Patty Judge, tech ethicist David Ryan Polgar, Sophia Cronk (Board President), Keith English, and Co-Founders Matt Soeth and Kim Karr.
“This event will educate students on how other students are bringing positivity to their school through social media and to celebrate those who are doing good,” says Executive Director Matt Soeth. “So often, we concentrate on the negative and forget that the best way to encourage positive change is to teach and incentivize students to proactively spread positivity and to recognize their efforts,” Soeth continues. By spreading the stories of these students, #ICANHELP is amplifying the impact of their stories and starting important conversations that can lead to real change.
Students from across the country will tune into the event both through the livestream and in-person.
Live watch parties are expected to bring the event livestream into schools and companies, including several in New York City.
